Carol Dilley has been a choreographer, performer and teacher internationally for over 30 years. With significant time spent in New York City, Barcelona, Seattle, Sydney Australia and currently at Bates College in Maine. In addition to performance work, Dilley has dedicated much of her creative energy towards making opportunities for dance artists to develop and present work in a supportive and responsive community. She was cofounding director of La Porta, www.laportabcn.com in Barcelona; developed a performance series for independent choreographers, Dance Briefs, in Sydney Australia in 2001; and the F.A.B. Dance Showcase in Lewiston, Maine in 2004. She has been Director of Dance at Bates College in Maine since 2003, has served as Chair of the Theater and Dance Department and was a founding member of the Bates Arts Collaborative. She is recently back from a 2 year leave where she served as Interim Chair the Dance Department at Hunter and then took an “artist year” in NY.
