Moving Target Portland w/ Alice MacDonald

  • Mechanic's Hall 519 Congress Street Portland, ME 04101 USA (map)

Alice is a dancer, performing artist and Alexander Technique teacher. In this Moving Target Portland class, we will practice building awareness of our moving bodies and around our dance practices. We will illuminate the ways we are thinking about and using our bodies in order to create space for choice and change. We will consider and utilize ideas that allow for dancing with less tension and effort and with more ease and freedom. Using Alexander Technique principles we will organize our bodies for dancing through simple movements designed to build connection, awareness and coordination. We will then apply this awareness into improvisation, some technique, and lots of dancing!
