Kaleidoscope is an evening of time-based art constructed by the Living Room Dance Collective inspired by the non-hierarchical formats developed by US dance collectives AUNTS and SALTA. Episodes of sound, video, choreographic exploration, and interactive activity are arranged throughout the nooks and crannies of a large space, events overlapping so that each audience member has a unique experience all their own.
$12 suggested donation, no one turned away
Altogether, the evening will unfold into an interactive museum of performance art, dance, sound, and installation. By facilitating the audience’s agency to move throughout the space and change their vantage point, Kaleidoscope aims to break down barriers between artist and audience, demonstrating that the work does not exist without viewers’ participation and experience of it.
