Chani Bockwinkel returns to The Living Room to share "Sappho & Sweat"

Chani Bockwinkel returns to Maine as an Artist in Residence at SPACE Gallery, to work her film project "Those Who Wait," and to teach "Sappho & Sweat" at Moving Target Portland. Below is her description for class which runs from 1-3pm Sunday Oct 1.

A place for us to get sweaty, learn some 80's sci fi dance moves, give attention to our pelvis and the magik that is our anatomy. Read a little sapphic poetry, do a few lunges, honor some deep femme idols, and dance WITH each other. 

Folks of all gender identies are very invited to come dance. 
Outlandish outfits also welcome.

Chani Bockwinkel is a performer and filmmaker. She makes interdisciplinary-collaborative-feminist imagery for the stage, gallery, and internet. Her work was most recently shown at: BRIC (NYC), Ponderosa (DE), Acre T.V. (IL), Destiny Arts (CA), INCITE/EXCITE (PA), somARTS (SF), QUEERSTIAN , (Amsterdam), BAMPFA (CA), and the Collage Festival (PA). She is also a founding member of SALTA, a feminist dance collective.
